Core Expertise

I work at the intersection of mining, governance, and political risk, with a focus on non-technical factors that materially affect project timelines, capital allocation, and long-term viability.

I am currently seeking internships in the mining industry.

Non-Technical & Political Risk in Mining

Analysis of political, regulatory, and governance risks that materially affect mining project timelines, capital deployment, and long-term viability. Focused on how permitting regimes, institutional capacity, and political uncertainty shape project outcomes beyond technical feasibility.

ESG, Governance & Regulatory Constraints

Assessment of ESG and governance as operational and regulatory constraints rather than branding exercises. Focused on how ESG requirements intersect with permitting, financing, public accountability, and execution risk across mining jurisdictions.

Stakeholder, Government & External Affairs

Research and communications support for stakeholder and government relations in resource-extractive contexts. Emphasis on framing engagement with governments, Indigenous communities, and public institutions where consent, legitimacy, and regulatory credibility directly influence project success.

Geopolitics, Critical Minerals & Jurisdictional Risk

Geopolitical and jurisdictional analysis of mining and critical mineral supply chains, with regional focus on Arctic Canada and Africa. Examines how sovereignty, state capacity, trade policy, and geopolitical competition affect extraction, processing, and access to strategic resources.

Why Mining?

Critical minerals sit at the center of the modern geopolitical and technological landscape.

Mining is where trade policy, sovereignty, Indigenous governance, and geopolitical competition converge. Control over extraction, processing, and access to resources shapes downstream outcomes in energy, defense, and industrial capacity.

My work examines mining not as an isolated technical industry, but as a strategic system embedded in political authority and institutional power. These briefs examine regulatory exposure, geopolitical risk, and jurisdictional trade-offs across mining projects and critical mineral supply chains.

Meet Isaac …

Born in 2005, Isaac is a driven student-athlete and community leader. A graduate of Donald A. Wilson Secondary School, he balanced academics, athletics, and leadership with distinction to earn a place on the Honour Roll and securing my DELF B2 French Certificate.

On the ice, he excelled as a goaltender in rep minor hockey, leading his team to an International Silver Stick championship. Away from the rink, he was equally versatile, competing in soccer and helping his high school team qualify for OFSAA in his senior year.

Beyond sports, Isaac has been inspired to help give back. As Co-Chair of Donald A. Wilson’s Relay for Life committee, he helped raise over $150,000 in support of Canadians affected by cancer. He also spent time as a volunteer for a local political candidate during the 2021 Federal election.

Now a student at the University of Ottawa, Isaac continues to combine hard work and heart—putting himself through school while building hands-on experience in customer service at several different hospitality locations.

He holds both Smart Serve and Food Handler certifications and brings a strong mix of discipline, initiative, and teamwork to everything he does.
